Is it free?
Yes. EasyGolf Learn is free, with no in-app purchases and no ads.
Does it work without internet?
The situation cards, Rules, Definitions, Practice and ruling notes are built into the app and work offline. Ask Coach, content updates and links to the official Rules need an internet connection.
Is this the official Rules of Golf?
No. EasyGolf Learn is an independent learning app based on the Rules of Golf 2023. Cards explain the Rules in plain words and link to the official text on The R&A’s website. In a competition, ask a referee or the Committee for a ruling.
How does Ask Coach work?
Coach uses AI (Claude, by Anthropic) through EasyGolf’s server. Answers cite Rule numbers and link to relevant cards in the app. There is a daily question limit. AI answers can be wrong and are not official rulings; please do not type personal information into your questions.
Where is my data?
Saved cards, recently viewed cards, settings, Practice progress, ruling notes and your recent Ask Coach messages are kept on your phone, together with a random install ID. When you ask Coach a question, the app sends the question, up to six earlier messages of the chat, the card you came from (if any), the app language, version and platform, and the install ID to EasyGolf’s server. The question and messages are passed to Anthropic to write the answer; the install ID and your IP address are not. EasyGolf does not store your questions or Coach’s answers on its server. To enforce the daily limit and prevent abuse, the server keeps counts with hashed IDs that change every day, deleted after 30 days; like any website, our hosting may log IP addresses. How do I delete my data?
Clear the chat in Ask Coach, delete notes or saved cards in the app, or clear the app’s storage or uninstall it to remove its local data. These actions do not delete server usage records, which are retained for 30 days, or Android backups managed by Google.
Is there an iPhone version?
An iPhone version is planned. No release date has been announced.
Which languages?
English and Vietnamese. Change the language in Settings → Language, or read a single card in the other language from the button on the card. More languages are planned.
